Our Cub Scout is becoming a Boy Scout

Here are some pictures from the Blue & Gold banquet last week.  Harry has been in cub scouts since the beginning and it was his last banquet as a cub scout.  In the next few weeks he will transition over to boy scouts and we will see how he likes that.

I think overall it has been a good experience for him.  It is difficult sometimes to find activities that work, but he is enthusiastic and seems to enjoy it.  It seems to be something that we can mold to suit him.  There are opportunities to learn about things that are particularly interesting to him along with the things that the pack does as a whole.  Hopefully boy scouts will be a similar experience.

Anyway, here we are at the banquet.  It was a nice affair.  It would probably be nicer if my children actually ate normal food.  Neither eats pasta, so a pasta dinner doesn't appeal.  I too have issues because of my garlic powder allergy, so at least Kevin got a full meal!  Life is funny sometimes.

Finally, I am trying to be more faithful about reading and reflecting on the Bible during Lent.  Long ago I set up a different blog and that is where I am putting my reflections.  They are not particularly profound, but a stepping off point for me to try to get back into engaging with scripture.   This is where they are if you are interested:  http://preacherswiferi.blogspot.com/
