Today we went to Bosworth Battlefield. It is about 15 minutes from Hinckley. Derek Whittaker, the father of the family in whose house we are staying took us there. It has been a gorgeous day and we really enjoyed ourselves. The Bosworth Battlefield has a nice museum that is pretty new looking and has all kinds of hands on things for children (and adults). It also takes your through the stories of the battle from 4 different perspectives. It really was one of the better museums for the children and they went through it paying very good attention.
Afterward we took a walk (in the wrong direction) around the battlefield which conveniently had a little cafe about halfway through which had ice cream and kept the children happy for the end of the walk when they were beginning to complain of being tired.
Knight Robert - they had chain mail which was so heavy I could barely lift it.
On this computer you could dress a knight in his full armor, there is a reason they had a special person to help them get their armor on.
Puppy came along and look where we found him hanging out.
Here is a sundial at the beginning of our walk - it is shaped like a spear with King Richard's crown hanging upon it.
Yellow roses with blush edges - one of my favorites.
Ah the English countryside.
