Last Day in London

We started the day with a walk in Hyde Park.  You can see how hot it has been in London.  Instead of green grass, the grass is a brown.  It hasn't rained since we got here, a very unusual thing and there is a drought here at the moment.

We had a goal in mind in Hyde Park - the Princess Diana memorial playground.  We found another along the way, though and so while Robert was checking it out.  Harry and I went and explored the water garden we found.

Robert takes 2 or 3 steps for a grown up one and so he sometimes has a little protest or needs some on the go thumb comfort when he feels he is being pushed to his limit.

We made it to the playground and they had a great pirate ship with a mast to climb.  Robert went up 2 or 3 times and carefully and deliberately made his way to the very top.  There were dozens of children around and it didn't faze him at all.  He just climbed up and moved around them as he made his way up and down the mast.  He didn't ignore the other children, but he didn't fuss at them either, just quietly worked away toward his goal.  It really was rather fascinating to watch.

For our last meal in London we had a picnic in Hyde Park.  After that we took a bus to the hotel for our things and another bus to the train and then the train back to Hinckley.  Then one more mode of transport to our house here (taxi).

Here are the boys at Hinckley Station waiting for a taxi.
