County Fair

Can't beat a fair with lawn mower racing

and funny looking chickens

and rides :-)

Harry and I went on the ferris wheel while Kevin & Robert went on a kiddie roller coaster - our line was longer so they had to wait for us

look over there

We went on a slide like this at Westport House in Ireland - this one was not quite as fast, but also fun

Last weekend was the Washington County Fair.  We went with the boys and even though Robert and I weren't fully on our game, we had a good time.  We thought Robert, who had been just a little off, for a couple of days, was feeling normal, but on the ride there discovered that wasn't quite true.  Still he felt well enough and had a good time.

We ate lunch at a cafe on the way there.  It turns out we probably might as well as eaten at the fair as far as pricing goes, but we'd never been to the cafe and it looked like a diner, but turned out to be a relatively pricey one.  We did have some fun fair snacks though.  Harry had cotton candy, Robert had popcorn, Kevin had a smoothie and Kevin and I share some fried oreos.  I have always read about and seen that they fry all kinds of weird things at country fairs, but never had the opportunity to try anything especially strange.  So, this was the best the fair could do (actually I think they may have had fried pickles, but I don't like regular pickles so that wasn't gonna do it for me).

We walked around and looked at the animals and the lawn mower races for a bit.  The races were quite loud though and so we didn't last for an especially long time at those.  The animals were fun to look at and the many things they were selling.  Then of course the boys went on a few rides and we played a game and had a snack.  A nice Sunday afternoon outing.
